Another win for the K's lifts them out of the drop zone
It was rather a surprise when Kingstonian dropped into the bottom four in mid November, but, following a fourth win in five matches, the K’s are finally out- with Hendon taking their place.
Kingstonian’s form over the last six matches has been bettered only by AFC Portchester and Westfield, and they will now be confident of climbing the table.
The club have been having to play away from their usual home of late, and Wednesday night’s match against South Park Reigate was no exception, moved to Ashford Town’s 3G pitch. Ninety minutes brought only one goal, and it went to the ‘hosts,’ Joel Brown ending a sweeping passing move by meeting a cross at the back post and forcing the ball home. That was Brown’s third goal in seven matches and undoubtedly the most important, as it lifted his side to seventeenth, two points clear of the drop zone. The K’s also have games in hand over the three sides directly below them- Littlehampton Town, with whom they are level on points, Hendon, who are two points further back, and Ascot United, who are now four points from safety.
The Sparks, incidentally, are seven matches without a win, and that was their third consecutive one-nil defeat. They find themselves in twelfth, only three points ahead of the K’s- and indeed there are only six points between nineteenth and ninth!
