The Tanners go nine clear with a Vale massacre
Our leaders, Leatherhead, travelled to Raynes Park Vale and increased their lead at the top to nine points with a six-star display. They took their hosts to pieces in a one-sided first half, going in at the break five-nil up before relaxing a little in the closing stages.
Jordan Gallagher, for so long a Vale favourite, bit the hand that used to feed by scoring the opening goal on six minutes, and it was two-nil ten minutes later Cameron Black doubling the lead. Nathan Hogan’s twenty sixth of the season made it three-nil, Seb Tauta-Caballero got number four, and seven minutes before half time Hogan added number five from the spot.
Vale got on the scoresheet seven minutes into the second half, Calvin Ekpiteta with that one, but the Tanners rounded things off with a sixth eleven minutes from time, Jacob Breckon ensuring that the visiting fans were given something else to shout about.
The sides meet again on Saturday!
