Becks make it five in a row- and stay seven points clear
Beckenham Town knew that, whatever happened, they’d be top of the table on Saturday night- and they were looking for a fifth consecutive victory as they travelled to take on the considerable challenge of fourth place Sheppey United, the Ites ten points behind their visitors but with four games in hand. The first half brought no goals, and so did most of the second half, but sixteen minutes from time Becks went ahead, Louie Theophanous with the opener. That turned out to be the only goal- a ninth of the season for Theophanous- and it ensured that Becks stayed seven points clear, whilst their hosts dropped out of the top five.
