The Blues get the blues as Sporting make it
Brentwood Town headed to Mile End hoping to build on their eight-nil hammering of Ipswich Wanderers on Saturday, and aware that another win would take them into the top five- but they met a Sporting Bengal United side who weren't prepared to play by that script. The hosts had slipped up at Haringey Borough on Saturday, but had won their previous two, and made it three wins from four with a positive second half showing.
Brandy Makuendi left the visiting fans in need of a strong drink, putting his side ahead just before the hour, and twenty minutes later Joe Gregory sealed a Sporting victory with a second.
United climb to fourteenth.
