A Merson double sinks Rovers at Colston Avenue
Hanworth Villa travelled to take on a newly reinforced Sutton Common Rovers, at Carshalton Athletic’s Colston Avenue. The Villains were four unbeaten in League and County Cup, winning their last three, whilst Rovers, who started the weekend in thirteenth place, were still looking for a first home win of the campaign despite showing some good form. The Villains took the lead on fifty four minutes courtesy of Sam Merson’s fourth of the season, and nine minutes from the end Merson got another to seal victory, and send his side into the top five.
