It’s South Central Friday once more

We’ve two matches this evening, Ashford Town and Binfield the hosts

Ashford Town are currently not at Ashford Town, as works to install their new 3G pitch are about to commence, so instead the Tangerines are groundsharing at Cobham FC, which is a short distance off the A3 just north of the M25. Tonight the Tangerines ‘host’ Raynes Park Vale, looking for a second win of the season in what will be their first league home fixture. Vale sit in mid table after a fairly inconsistent start to the campaign, but have looked much more like their old selves in recent draws with Moneyfields and last weekends win at Ascot United.

Victory will lift the visitors- perhaps temporarily- into the top five, whilst a home win could lift the Tangerines up to fifteenth.

Binfield have had a terrible couple of weeks- and indeed their league season so far has looked far too much like the start of last season to give them much comfort. With two points from seven matches, and having conceded seven goals in each of their last two fixtures, the Moles are rather desperate to turn the tide. They take on Sutton Common Rovers this evening with hopes of giving their fans something to finally feel good about.

Rovers, in ninth place, will be aware that victory this evening could take them as high as third, albeit perhaps temporarily with more matches being played tomorrow. They have already won three times on the road- and indeed have been better away from home than on their own patch- and a draw with second place Harrow Borough last week will have boosted their confidence yet further.

Kick off is at 7.45 for both matches.
