It’s the Final Final!

Today we find out who joins Chichester City, Bowers & Pitsea and Marlow to take the last place in our promotion quartet- but this one comes with the biggest prize of all, the right to join Hornchurch in the National League. Chatham Town and Enfield Town will play in front of an estimated three thousand strong crowd at the Bauvill Stadium, and it’s rather difficult to predict the outcome. The sides met only nine days ago, on the last day of the regular season- a two-two draw at the Dave Bryant Stadium in North London not without its controversy. When they last met at The Bauvill, in late November, the Chats won the match three-one- but a lot has changed since then. Our visitors are in the best form of the two, with only one defeat from their last ten matches, whilst the Chats, who are looking for a second successive promotion, come into this match with five wins from ten- albeit the last of those on penalties. Both sides have achieved their highest ever League finish (joint highest in the case of the visitors)- and the Chats have, of course, already lifted the Velocity Cup this season, so are looking for a second set of silverware. Kick off is, of course, at 3PM- and we’ll have a report shortly after the final whistle, which, of course, could possibly arrive after extra time and a penalty shootout.
