K's and Dowse reunited

Alan Dowson takes over at Kingstonian

Former Hampton and Richmind Borough boss Alan Dowson was yesterday announced as the new manager of Pitching In Isthmian South Central side Kingstonian. He replaces Scott Harris, who departed the club last week.

Dowse, who left the Beavers two weeks ago after a second spell in charge, spent seven years in charge of the K's from 2007 to 2014, steering them to the Division One South title and into two top flight Play Off campaigns. He joined the K's after a period in charge of Walton and Hersham, and departed to join Hampton for the first time, taking them to our top flight title and into National League South.

After nearly four years at the Beveree he moved on to Woking, helping them to promotion, and spent almost four years there before moving on to manage Dartford and Hemel Hempstead Town.

He rejoined Hampton in December last year.

Ks chairman George Vasilaras told the club website:

"The club received a huge amount of interest for the manager's position following Scott's departure last Wednesday. I spoke to a couple of managers but kept going back to Dowse, having spent a couple of hours with Alan last week. His infectious personality shone through, as did his sheer desire to want to do all he can to bring success back to our great club.

Alan is an experienced, proven manager, who I firmly believe will not only bring us success on the pitch, but will also bring the whole club together. He's a great combination of being a workaholic and football mad at the same time, he will give our club the best version of himself 24/7.

Bringing Dowse back is a real genuine coup for us as a club and I know the Ks faithful will give him a fantastic reception and get behind him and the boys, starting with tomorrow's match away to AFC Stoneham, when Alan will be back in the Ks dugout leading us as our new manager.'
