League leaders strengthen as Mensah returns

Dover Athletic last night gave a second debut to centre half Jacob Mensah.

Jacob came through the youth ranks at Ramsgate before graduating to the first team, making a debut in November 2016 and playing his last game for the Rams in a two-two draw with Cray Wanderers in February 2019, leaving the club to take the massive step up to Premier League side Crystal Palace. He played for the Under 23 side at Selhurst Park.

After leaving South London he played National League football for Weymouth, and after a season in Dorset turned out for League One side Morecambe. A move to Maidstone United came next, before another spell in the South West with Torquay United. He spent last season in National League South with Athletic, and started this campaign with Welling United.
