Leighton back at Bridges
South East defences should be very afraid, as Noel Leighton returns to the Three Bridges attack
Three Bridges and prolific striker Noel Leighton just seem to go together. Noel returned to Bridges for their match at Ashford United on Saturday and immediately scored, as he did in his only other appearances for the club this season, against Eastbourne Town in September and Lewes on October 1st.
Noel was superb in front of goal as Bridges reached the Play Off Final last season, scoring an incredible thirty seven goals, including hat tricks against Hythe Town, Ashford United, Cray Valley PM and Sheppey United. That followed twelve goals the previous season and five during 21-22.
Noel came through the youth ranks at Millwall, and moved on to play for Dagenham and Redbridgebefore coming to our notice with Margate, where he got thirteen goals in forty appearances in 2019-20, including a couple as the Blues knocked Salisbury out of the FA Cup in Wiltshire. He then spent time with Hythe Town before moving to Bridges.
He has spent the first part of this season with Tonbridge Angels in National League South, and, given the club have announced sponsorship for the rest of the season, is now expected to stay. He scored two goals in eight matches with Angels, according to their website.
