Martin back with the Rams

Lee Martin returns to Ramsgate

Ramsgate have announced the signing of Lee Martin, who was an enormous part of their success in the League and FA Cup last season. Lee joined Ashford United earlier this summer, and has made seven appearances for the Nuts and Bolts, the last of them in their six-one win over Three Bridges on Saturday.

Martin first joined the Rams in the summer of 2023, and the midfielder made forty six appearances and scored six goals- including the winner as the club knocked National League Woking out of the FA Cup First Round in November, in front of a capacity crowd of three thousand at the Southwood Stadium.

Earlier in his career Lee played youth football for AFC Wimbledon and Manchester United, before graduating to the first team squad at the latter. Whilst at Old Trafford he had loan spells at Royal Antwerp, Glasgow Rangers, Stoke City, Plymouth Argyle and Nottingham Forest, before putting down some rather more permanent roots at Ipswich Town, under manager Roy Keane. He spent four years as a Tractor Boy (although there was also a short loan spell at Charlton Athletic), before making Millwall his next stop, for three years. Spells at Gillingham, where he was captain, and Exeter City came next, before a move to Ebsfleet United. He spent the 22-23 season with Dover Athletic in National League South.
