Mitre Golden Gloves Awards- February 2026

We celebrate our best defences of February- and those who stand behind them
Thanks to sponsors Mitre, the following winners will be receiving a fine new pair of gloves!
Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify.
Premier Division
Given they are rather dominating our Pitching In Isthmian Premier title chase, it’s rather unsurprising that we’re taking at least one trip to the Folkestone seaside with our February awards- and on this occasion it’s the one that celebrates the meanest defence.
February saw Invicta concede one miserly goal- well done to Elliot Long of Billericay Town, who gets the credit- and keep three clean sheets. Those clean sheets came in victories over Hashtag United, Dulwich Hamlet and Lewes, in a month that left the Stripes twelve points clear at the top.
Ted Collins is the man who stands behind that miserly defence, and he’ll be receiving a fabulous pair of gloves - which will fit nicely into his kit bag alongside the pad he won in November.
North Division
We’ve already travelled Maldon way with our Performance of the Month Award, and we’re off to the home of jam once more with a fabulous pair of gloves, courtesy of Mitre.
February saw the Jammers keep three clean sheets and concede only three goals. It also saw them climb to the top of the table, and whilst their forward line takes many of the plaudits their exceptional defence should also be recognised- particularly in relation to their hammerings of Newmarket Town, Felixstowe and Walton United and Brightlingsea Regent.
Elliot Justham is the man that marshals their backline, and he already has a pair of our gloves for his work in November. We don’t expect they’ve had too much action, but he now has another pair as back up- and our congratulations ringing in his ears.
South Central Division
We’ve just been to Harrow to deliver our Manager of the Month Award, and whilst we’re in situ we have a fabulous pair of gloves to drop off, too!
February saw Borough climb to seventh place in the table after three wins- and a draw- from four matches. South Park Reigate, Littlehampton Town and Fareham Town were vanquished, the first two to nil, and it also saw a draw with Bedfont Sports, which means that they conceded only two goals all month.
Credit goes to their defence, but the man standing behind that defence shouting and throwing himself about deserves even more credit, and that man is Tom Clark. Congrats Tom- gloves on the way.
South East Division
The return- or, if you like, arrival- of AFC Whyteleafe to our shores has been rather delightful, and the side in green ended February in third place in our table, fuelled by a potent attack and a mean defence. On this occasion, our focus is on that defence.
February brought four matches, ten points, and four clean sheets. The only side to escape with anything from an encounter were fellow promotion-chasers Jersey Bulls, whilst Merstham, Eastbourne Town and East Grinstead Town also failed to puncture the Leafe backline. Standing behind that backline was a man who is certainly no stranger to this award, the legend that is Slav Huk, who was our October winner. He also won twice last year with Burgess Hill Town, and numerous times with Dorking Wanderers, so he probably has enough gloves to open his own shop- and now he has some more!
Congrats to Slav- again.
Thanks to Mitre for sponsoring our Golden Gloves awards.
