Mitre Golden Gloves Awards- March 2026
We celebrate the best defences of March- and those who stand behind them
Thanks to sponsors Mitre, the following winners will be receiving a fine new pair of gloves!
Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify.
Premier Division
We’d like to pay tribute to Whitehawk’s Harry Lodovica, because he did something in March that nobody else managed. He scored against Chatham Town- not that it did the Hawks a great deal of good, they still left the Bauvill with nothing.
The Chats played six Pitching In Isthmian Premier matches during March, and kept a more than impressive five clean sheets. Hashtag United, Canvey Island- twice- and Burgess Hill Town were defeated to nil, Whitehawk two-one, and the month ended with a goalless draw against Brentwood Town. Keeping goal during that sequence was magnificent Nathan Harvey, and out congratulations go to him and his fine defence.
North Division
It’s time to visit the Dockers!
Tilbury had a particularly positive March, conceding only two goals as they finished the month undefeated. Clean sheets came against title-chasing Felixstowe and Walton United, Cambridge City and Brightlingsea Regent, whilst Heybridge Swifts managed one goal in defeat against the Dockers and Newmarket Town took a scoring draw.
Billy Lawlor and his fine defence deserve great credit- and Billy will soon have a pair of gloves heading his way.
South Central Division
We’ve just been to Bognor Regis Town to deliver our Manager of the Month Award, and whilst we’re in situ we have a fabulous pair of gloves to drop off, too!
March saw the Rocks concede only one goal- in a draw at Hartley Wintney. That was followed by three victories and three clean sheets, as they swept aside Bedfont Sports on the road and Met Police at home before celebrating Non League Day with a win at South Park Reigate.
Credit goes to their defence, but the man standing behind that defence shouting and throwing himself about deserves even more credit, and that man is Nyewood Lane legend Dan Lincoln. Congrats Dan- gloves on the way.
South East Division
Margate had a rather superb March. The month dawned with a three-two win over Broadbridge Heath- and as it turned out those were the only goals Gate were to concede all month.
Hastings United and Beckenham Town were defeated to nil on the road, whilst at Hartsdown Park Hassocks and, most impressively, leaders Three Bridges also fell without managing a goal.
Dino Kaiser was the man behind that magnificent defence- and now he has a fabulous pair of new gloves to look forward to. Congrats go out to Dino.
