Moles climb with last-gasp win in Guernsey

Moles climb with last-gasp win in Guernsey

Binfield move up to sixteenth and make it two wins in a row

After hammerings at the hands of Farnham Town and Kingstonian it was difficult not to worry that Binfield might be about to have another rather difficult campaign, but the Moles have shown real resilience to bounce back and climb the table, last night making it two wins from two by defeating Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

Kickie Dzimba has proved a fine signing for the Moles, and it was his hard work that left Jamie Hilton with the chance to put his side ahead after just five minutes- a chance he took, his first goal of the season. The Green Lions levelled from the spot ten minutes before half time, Ross Allen with his second goal of the season and what we believe to be his two hundred and ninety seventh for the club, and it looked like that was that as we moved into added time at the end of the match with the sides still level. Substitute Ethan Gold only arrived on the field in the eighty ninth minute, replacing Hilton, and with almost the final kick of the game- and extra five minutes already having been played- he slammed home a volley to win the match for the Moles.

Five hundred and two watched on, and most of them are still waiting to see their side pick up a home point this season. Guernsey are twenty first.
