Monday Night Cup action

It’s Monday, so all roads must be heading to Colston Avenue, home of Carshalton Athletic, as they welcome Leatherhead in the Velocity Cup Quarter Finals.

The Robins are in good form, one point away from the Pitching In Isthmian Premier top five, and are looking for a tenth unbeaten match in all competitions. The travelling Tanners are yet to resemble the force we expected them to be this season, and will be making as quick return to the scene of their latest defeat, as their one-nil loss on Saturday was against the Robins tenants, Sutton Common Rovers. That defeat perhaps summed up their season, as prior to it they were three unbeaten and looked to be finally beginning to click- and it continued a pattern. In all competitions they have lost only three of their last fourteen, but each of those defeats has been by the same margin, and they sit in fourteenth place in the Pitching In South Central table, thirteen points away from the top five, eight points away from the drop zone. 

This will be the first meeting between the sides since a pulsating three-three Premier Division draw in November 2021, a match which saw the Tanners lead three-one with only nine minutes left.
