New Tangerines
Ashford Town add Jayden Porter-Atkinson, Elliott Poley, Tristan Vernal, Noyan Tajbakash, Liam Moore and George Vorster
Ashford Town have announced a number of new arrivals- although some of them have actually been at the club for a couple of weeks.
Jayden Porter-Atkinson, a winger who scored the Tangerines second goal in a draw with Leatherhead on Saturday, came through the youth ranks at Reading FC before leaving the club in the summer. Since then he has been at Hemel Hempstead Town, and has joined the Tangerines on loan. Saturday was actually his third appearance.
Elliott Poley made his second appearance since returning to the club in Saturday's draw. The defender has plenty of South Central experience, primarily with Uxbridge, for whom he played sixteen times during 2019-20, eight times before 21-22 fell over, thirty eight times during 21-22, and seventeen times during 22-23. He has also played for Harrow Borough and Burnham.
Tristan Vernal actually made a debut in Saturday's draw. The defender, who has made six appearances for Pitching In Isthmian North side Waltham Abbey this season, came through the ranks at Leyton Orient and also played Under 21 football for Middlesbrough. He headed south again and played for Egham Town- and indeed had two spells with the Sarnies, with a spell at Harrow Borough sandwiched in between.
Noyan Tajbakash has made three appearances for the club so far. The forward played youth football for Turkish giants Fenerbahce and also played in his home country for Sariyer and Büyükcekmece Tepecik Spor before first coming our way with Uxbridge. He has also played for Edgware Town, Woodford Town, Kings Langley and St Panteleimon, and recently for Essex Senior League side Barking.
Liam Moore and George Vorster come in on loan from Sutton United. Liam, a midfielder, joined United in the summer of 2023 and has been playing a starring role in their Under 18 side- and scored for the Tangerines on his debut on Saturday. George, a forward, plays alongside Liam in the United Under 18 side, and he hasn't been short of goals. He also made his debut on Saturday.
