Only Witham win on our Cup Sunday
It was a mixed day for our sides in the FA Cup, but Witham emerged victorious
Littlehampton Town supporters are probably becoming rather fed up of five goal thrillers, as the last two Sundays they’ve watched their side be involved in two and lose them both. The latest defeat came at the hands of Faversham Town, these days an SCEFL side but unbeaten so far this season, and it came despite the Golds being ahead with only five minutes remaining.
Alex Laing opened the scoring on nineteen minutes- his second of the season- and although the visitors levelled on the half hour through Frannie Collin, the equaliser coming five minutes after the Golds Matthew Astle was dismissed, another from Laing on sixty seven minutes looked like being the winner. The ten men held on until four minutes from time, Sam Hasler with the equaliser for the Lilywhites, and it looked like we were off to Kent for a replay, but in added time Collin stepped up to win it for the visitors.

Grays Athletic and Witham Town met at Chadfields in an all-North tie. The last two seasons had seen each side win their home matches against the other, but Witham continued their perfect start to the season in some style, with a four-one win. Anton Matthews put the visitors ahead just after the half hour, and within seven minutes it was two-nil, Josh Osude doubling the advantage for Town. A penalty from Elliott Sartorious deep in first half added time gave Athletic hope, but it was partially extinguished when Luke Ige made it three-one with twenty three minutes left, and departed entirely when Osude got a fourth from the spot in added time.
