Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 24-25: Dulwich Hamlet

Luke Stanley has high hopes for Hamlet

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

We’re off to Champion Hill, courtesy of pink and blue Luke!

  1. Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

Last season was a tough acclimatisation after getting relegated from NLS. Going into the season expectations were quite high, but reality hit quickly after a tough start.. highlights were the long unbeaten run we had that got us into a playoff spot, albeit briefly, before tailing off. Luke Wanadio was a class above all season and his hatrick against Margate will live long in the memory.

2. And what was the worst moment?

The early exits of all the cup competitions, mostly to lower league sides was tough to take.

3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Luke Wanadio by some distance. Constant threat, ever present and available and scoring 20+ goals in all competitions was a great effort from a wide player. He’s too good for this league and we’re so happy to have him return.

4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 24-25 campaign?

Pre-season has been very promising. Our midfield is looking really strong. Riley Scott with another season under his belt should push on, Wynter looks like the 6 we’ve been craving for for a few seasons and Ralfi Hand, released from Charlton,  I really like the look of. Only 19 but loves to get on the ball and dictate the play.

5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

I think given we’ve kept most of our better players from last season and added (I hope) better quality to the squad we should be looking for playoffs as a minimum. We need a good start and if we can build momentum then maybe challenging late into the season is on the cards.

Oh and to go deep in at least one cup competition would be nice!

6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

Billericay and Dartford. Billericay because there’s always a bit of spice since the Tamplin days and because we owe them for curtailing our season last season. Dartford because they’ll be challenging this season and will be hurting from being relegated.

7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

I like Horsham. Lovely little setup down there, although we don’t tend to do well on 3G pitches.

8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Lewes

9. Who do you think will finish in the top five?

Chatham Town, Dulwich Hamlet, Horsham, Billericay Town, Wingate and Finchley.

Thank you- now, who’s next? If you’d like to represent your club please send an email to Ian at [email protected] and we’ll send you the questions.
