Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 24-25: Sittingbourne

Mike gives us a tour of Brickieland

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

We’re off to Sittingbourne, with Mike Green

  1. Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

In all honesty it came at the end of season presentation night, when we were told that Ryan Maxwell was staying at the Club after announcing he was leaving to manage closer to home. Coming so soon after the massive disappointment of losing in the final minutes of the Play Off Semi Final, it saved everyone's summer.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Three Bridges late winner in the Play Offs - a real kick in the teeth at the time.

3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Skipper Bagasan Graham who led by example- closely followed by young Joe Tyrie who was on loan from Tonbridge Angels

4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 24-25 campaign?

Ryan staying has enabled us to bring in some terrific players and leaders. I can’t wait to see Sheppey's old skipper Richie Hammill in Red and Black- along with the partnership of Liam Smith (ex Hythe) and Chris Arthur at the back. I also can’t wait to see Troy Howard, who I saw play in SCEFL for Lydd Town last season and he really excited me.

5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

Hopefully we’ll at least match last season- which was the Clubs best in nearly thirty years- this time with a happy ending!

6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

The games against the new clubs - always great to meet new people!

7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

Any ground that sees the Brickies come away with three points!

8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Personally I've always like Lancing.

9. Who do you think will finish in the top five?

Margate, Sittingbourne, Herne Bay, Burgess Hill Town, Lancing

Thank you- now, who’s next? If you’d like to represent your club please send an email to Ian at [email protected] and we’ll send you the questions.
