Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 26-27: Canvey Island

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. 

Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

The late victory at home to Billericay in December.

And what was the worst moment?

In a season that saw us get relegated there were many of these, but I will have to go with the limp displays against Hashtag United.

Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Jacob Marsden. Performed admirably for us in a position that had seemed to be a revolving door.

Moving on to your current squad - which players do you think will make a big impact during the 26/27 campaign?

Evans Kouassi is a good player, although at his age may not be as fit as he once was. Mitchell May looks decent up top.

Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

It’ll probably be a two horse race between us and Felixstowe for the title.

If you could choose a song for your side to run our to, what would it be- and why?

Yellow Submarine by the Beatles. Because we play in yellow, and Canvey is below sea level.

From all the opposition players you watched last season, which one would you love to see in your side- and why?

Danny Ogunleye. As a side that seems to struggle up top, he would be a very good addition.

What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

Cheshunt. Very welcoming people there.

If you travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Dartford. Decent hot dog and chips, real quality. Shout out to Chatham and Cray Valley for actually doing proper Cheesy Chips.
