Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 26-27: Hayes and Yeading United

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see shortly. 

Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

Some of the wonder goals our players scored in particular Amos Nasha from the halfway line against Kingstonian.

And what was the worst moment?

I would have to say some of the heavy defeats we suffered, with a 7-0 and a couple of 5-0 losses. Made even worse by the long drive home from some of them and having to write the match report for our website for one of the them.

Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

It has to be Amos Nasha, bringing energy, work rate and tenacity to our midfield all season. No matter what, you could always rely on him to give it everything when he was on the pitch for us.

Moving on to your current squad - which players do you think will make a big impact during the 26/27 campaign?

I would say Amos Nasha again with him being named our captain for the upcoming campaign, his experience and leadership will be vital to success this season.

From watching our preseason games we have had several defensive reinforcements with the likes of Josh Edwards, Ben Shroll and James Taylor coming in, which should help stop us from conceding as many goals as last season.

I think at the other end of the pitch our attacking options also look very good with Joe Waight, Gianni Crichlow and Amari Fashanu bringing in a new energy in the final third.

Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

Ever the optimist I always say we can win the league but I think at a minimum we should be achieving a playoff place from seeing the hard work that has been put in behind the scenes to prepare for the season.

If you could choose a song for your side to run our to, what would it be- and why?

Thats a tough question because there are so many different options that I can think of. The players seem to have a house music vibe going on in the dressing room so I think I will have to go with Talk to you by ANOTR.

From all the opposition players you watched last season, which one would you love to see in your side- and why?

We have been lucky enough this summer to sign a few of the players that I watched play for other teams last season who I am very excited to see play in red for us this season. One player who we haven't signed but I think looked very good last season was Zack Willett for AFC Portchester. He scored a hat trick against us in our game away against them and looked like a handful for our defence.

What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

I enjoy the clubhouse at Ascot and Bedfont were extremely welcoming when we went there on a cold Tuesday evening last season. Harrow is a lovely old school ground. I am also looking forward to visiting some new grounds this season with a few different teams coming into our league.

If you travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Last season I only grabbed food at a few away games. AFC Portchester and Ascot were both good. I unfortunately couldn't make it to Hartley Wintney last season but in previous seasons their burgers have always been good.
