Rams and Oaks provide our South East entertainment

AFC Croydon Athletic play host to Sevenoaks Town this evening, fifteenth v thirteenth. There may only be two places between the sides but the gap is six points, although the Rams would undoubtedly wish us to point out that they’ve played two games fewer. Athletic have seen their form depart of late, and have only one win from nine- and yet, on the occasions when everything clicks into gear have looked a real threat, their five-one hammering of Phoenix Sports on Boxing Day an example. Oaks are the very epitome of inconsistency, perhaps exemplified by the four wins, four defeats and two draws from their last ten matches, very much mid table form, and yet they also have moments of brilliance when the mood suits them. 

There’s enough talent in both sides to suggest that they are underachieving a little, and we suspect they’ll hope to begin putting that right this evening.
