Several Swifts!

Several Swifts!

Chris Gregan, Alfie Cutbush and Lester Ward are the latest arrivals at Heybridge Swifts

Heybridge Swifts boss Julian Dicks yesterday announced a number of additions to his squad.

Chris Gregan, a left back, spent time with neighbours Maldon & Tiptree last season, making fifteen appearances. The 22-23 campaign saw him play twenty one times for Brentwood Town, and he was previously with Brightlingsea Regent and for Swifts. Chris was part of the Bishop's Stortford side which narrowly missed out on the Playoffs during the 2018-19 season, spent much of his career with Chelmsford City, and also played briefly for Harlow Town.

His list of clubs also includes brief periods with Gloucester City, Frome Town and Yate Town whilst he was away from Essex studying.

Midfielder Alfie Cutbush was only announced as a new arrival at Billericay Town in June, so we're not sure yet whether his Swifts arrival is a permanent or loan move. Alfie recently left Ipswich Town- but you may recognise him from previous Isthmian loan spells. He had a spell at Bury Town during the early stages of the 22-23 campaign, where he made six appearances before heading back to his parent club just after Christmas- and he later went on to spend time at Stowmarket Town during the same campaign, playing five times. He also spent some loan time at Concord Rangers whilst they were still a National League South side.

Alfie had been a Tractor Boy since he was in single digits, and has played for both the Under 18 and Under 21 sides at Portman Road.

Lester Ward, a defender, comes in on a dual registration deal from National League South side Chelmsford City. Lester has come through the Academy at the Clarets, and made his first team debut a few months ago.
