Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month, March 2026
Here are our latest performance awards - and four deserved winners
Our congratulations for some superb performances go to the following clubs:
Pitching In Isthmian Premier
Non League Day saw Cray Wanderers head to take on title-chasing Aveley, and emerge with a fabulous three-two victory.
Wands went ahead early on, Lateef Adaja opening the scoring, and eleven minutes into the second half they had another, Remi Sutton making it two-nil. The Millers looked down and out, but they most certainly weren’t, and ten minutes from time Liam Nash halved the arrears. With only one minute left on the clock Nash struck again, and it seemed like Wands had yet another draw to add to their collection, but Max Fiddes had other ideas. Two minutes into added time he scored a third goal for Wands- and this time there was no coming back for the hosts. We suspect the cheers in Folkestone were almost as loud as those from the away fans!
Congrats to all at Flamingo Park- our Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month Award is heading your way.
Pitching In Isthmian North
Saturday 7th March saw Waltham Abbey entertain title favourites Maldon and Tiptree. The Abbotts were in good form, but had fallen to defeat the previous Saturday and had been hammered by the Jammers in Essex back in November, so the visitors were undoubtedly the favourites- but their hosts had other ideas. Ben Baker gave them the lead eleven minutes into the second half, and despite an equaliser the hosts would not be stopped. Kai Brown- of course, a former Jammer- restored the lead fifteen minutes from time, and then for good measure added a third on eighty six minutes to secure the points. He also secured our Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month Award for his side.
Congrats to all at the Abbotts.
Pitching In Isthmian South Central
AFC Portchester picked up our Performance of the Month Award for February, and the Royals make it two from two.
Non League Day saw them travel to take on leaders Leatherhead, a match important for the hosts but crucial for the visitors in their battle to clinch a Play Off spot. It didn’t start well- the Tanners took only one minute to go ahead, and although Spencer Spurway drew the Royals level seventeen minutes later they were behind at the break, with an uphill battle facing them in the second half.
It was a battle they relished. First, Ryan Pennery made it two-two, and then, with only nine minutes remaining, Pennery struck again- his seventh goal of the season delivering three points and ensuring that his side maintained an eight point advantage over sixth place Egham Town.
Many congratulations to all at the club on two in a row.
Pitching In Isthmian South East Division
Merstham travelled to take on Play Off chasing Faversham Town on Non League Day in rather mixed form- but they certainly found their feet and swept the Lilywhites off theirs.
Louie Theophanous was the chief architect of the Moatsiders victory, scoring on nineteen, thirty seven and sixty six minutes- but he had help, as Merstham also scored on sixty four minutes- Ollie Khinda- and through Lee Lewis on seventy one. Five hundred and twelve watched on, and most of them left miserable after witnessing their side falling to their biggest defeat of the season, five-nil the final score.
Congrats to all at Merstham- Performance of the Month winners.
