Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month, October 2026

Shepherd Neame Performance of the Month, October 2026

We had some fine performances during October, and after some debate we picked four crackers as our winners

Our congratulations for some superb performances go to the following clubs:

Pitching In Isthmian Premier

Cray Wanderers, who picked up September’s award for their victory over Maidstone United, made it two in a row- this time for their win over Bedford Town in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round. The Wands travelled to take on their National League North opponents on October 17th, and a goalless draw brought them back to Flamingo Park for a midweek replay, with a home tie against League One promotion chasers Stockport County the prize.

Wands took the lead on seventeen minutes courtesy of Ola Ogunwamide, but the visitors drew level just before the break and, after a second half with no goals, the match went to extra time. The Step Two side went ahead for the first time eleven minutes into the first period, only for Ade Yusuff to quickly draw Wands level, and we headed to a penalty shootout. Wands keeper Jasper Briggs who was the hero, saving twice, as Wands reached the First Round for the first time ever.

Many congratulations to all at Flamingo Park, and good luck on Sunday.

Pitching In Isthmian North

Little Oakley were in fine form as they travelled to Cambridge City, on a run which had seen them take ten points from their previous four matches- so we expected a tight encounter. What we got instead was a one-sided massacre.

City scored two goals in the first four minutes, Alex Warman and Freddie Hockey the scorers, and on twelve minutes Charlie Royle added a third. It was four-nil by the break, Fletcher Toll with the next one, and still City weren’t finished, adding three more after the break, Hockey completing his hat trick and Samrai Gebrai delivering number seven.

The Acorns followed that match with another run which has seen them take ten points from twelve, which just demonstrates quite how good City were on October 17th- and now they’ll have an award to remember a fabulous afternoon. Congratulations to all at the club.

Pitching In Isthmian South Central

Unbeaten leaders Bognor Regis Town headed to Hayes to take on Southall, the Rocks hoping to extend their lead at the top to seven points- but instead they were well beaten by a Southall side who have promotion pretensions of their own.

The Rocks had a fine start, Timi Abraham taking only four minutes to put them ahead, but The All weren’t prepared to lie down, and drew level just before the break, Bill Montague with the equaliser. Fifteen minutes from time Montague struck again to give the hosts the lead, and any chance of a Bognor revival was quickly stamped out, Liam Ferdinand taking only two more minutes to make it three-one and to make quite sure of the points.

Congratulations to all at The All!

Pitching In Isthmian South East Division

Merstham travelled to take on promotion-chasing Margate on October 17th. The Moatsiders weren’t in the best of form, with only one win from their previous seven league matches, but they had recent success at Hartsdown Park, a shootout win in the Velocity Cup- and they enjoyed their League visit even more.

Gil Carvalho put the visitors ahead on ten minutes, and Hamilton Antonio made it two only four minutes later. Any chance that the hosts had of a comeback ended just before the hour when Carvalho added a third, and still Merstham weren’t finished, Vinnie Tume adding a fourth and Olu Lawal a fifth.

Many congratulations to all at the club, and we’ll be with you bearing gifts in the near future.
