Stow and the Moles
We’ve matches in North and South Central this evening, Walthamstow and Binfield in the role of festive hosts
It’s the Monday before Christmas, and if you’re already sick of the sight of mince pies and repeats of festive tv specials we’ve got some fine Monday night football to distract you.
In Pitching In Isthmian North we have a London derby, as Walthamstow take on Haringey Borough. Stow have been in good form, as highlighted by their four-nil thumping of Grays Athletic on Saturday, and are looking to climb up to eighth and pick up a fifth win in six, whilst Borough got their first win in nine on Saturday and know that if they can pick up another they will leap out of the bottom four for Christmas, albeit perhaps temporarily given that all of their rivals play on Boxing Day.
Binfield are the hosts for Leatherhead in our Pitching In Isthmian South Central clash. The Moles find themselves only three points above the drop zone following a run of one win from six, whilst the travelling Tanners have won three of their last four and will hope that’s a harbinger of joy, as they look to climb into the top ten with three more points. The Tanners did the double over the Moles last season, and it seems that two is the magic number. In the last five meetings between the sides nobody has scored more than two goals.
