Supporters Predictions 24-25: Cray Wanderers

Wands fan Martyn has a new home and new hopes!

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

New season, new ground, new belief for Cray Wanderers and Martyn Beadle.

  1. Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

To be honest, there weren’t too many highlights from last season. But the obvious highlight was knowing that this would be our last ever season playing at Bromley, and that we were finally going to have a new stadium down at Flamingo Park.

2. And what was the worst moment?

A couple of thrashings, Hornchurch and Bognor Regis Town giving us a good hiding at home.

3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Player of the Year, David Ijaha. He was immense last season playing at centre mid and centre half and has been an influential player for the last two seasons, he would be my choice as captain.

4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 24-25 campaign?

Alex Teniola and David Smith have got good goalscoring records at this level, so hopefully they can replace the goals that Gary Lockyer scored last season.

5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

As we settle into our new home I would be happy finishing 10th - 12th and then push on. The owner wants league football so hopefully in a couple of years time we will be on the right path!

6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

Dartford & Dover Athletic, two teams who got relegated and are local- plus Hendon and Chichester City because I've never been to their grounds.

7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

Chatham Town, the atmosphere in the bar and the ground at the game was quite good- even though it was a bit flat after we thumped them 5 - 1!

8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Folkestone Invicta

9. Who do you think will finish in the top five?

Chatham Town, Folkestone Invicta, Dartford, Dover Athletic, Billericay Town
