Supporters Predictions 24-25: East Grinstead Town
Gary Medland is next up, representing East Grinstead Town
We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.
Gary is our guide to the world of Wasps!
- Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?
Beating Ashford United home and away whilst enjoying the Christmas festivities at both games, great banter.
2. And what was the worst moment?
A horrific 7-1 drubbing away to Chichester… oh dear, it still sends a shiver down our backs.
3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?
Glenn Wilson - our captain. A colossus in defence and a damn good penalty taker too. Proved vital at both ends.
Jasper Tetlow - Our Young Player of the Year. A real potential talent, who coped well last season.
4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 24-25 campaign?
Charlie Harris, experienced in midfield, along with Michael Wilson, Toch Singh and Connor Tighe. Matt Daniel, back in amongst the goals. Omar Foulkes, he simply is a legend.
5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?
A nice solid mid table please, with no nail biting this season!
6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?
Ashford for the festivities, glad we’ll be going to see Three Bridges, as ever, our local rivals. The travelling Grin Army always loves visiting new grounds like Margate, Erith Town, Deal, AFC Croydon and Steyning Town.
7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?
Herne Bay was voted this by our travelling fans for last season
8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?
Ramsgate and Ashford - A brioche bun makes all the difference as do mince pies and a festive tipple
9. Who do you think will finish in the top five?
Sittingbourne, Ramsgate, Herne Bay, Sheppey United, Burgess Hill Town
Thank you- now, who’s next? If you’d like to represent your club please send an email to Ian at [email protected] and we’ll send you the questions.
