Supporters Predictions 24-25: Walthamstow

Andrzej tells us East London tales

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

We’re taking a trip to E17, and Andrzej Perkins takes us deep into the world of Walthamstow

  1. Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

It was an odd season, where it felt like we never really got going and still finished sixth. The final game away to Bowers & Pitsea where we won 4-2 after being 2-0 down was probably our best performance of the season, and gave us a lot to look forward to over the summer.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Making the long trip to Lowestoft in November on a Tuesday, leading twice and eventually falling to a 90th minute winner for the home side.

3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Jared Small - played in literally every single position except for in goal, and kept things steady during a management change.

4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 24-25 campaign?

Ade Cole has already shown his quality in pre-season, and will be key in any success we have.

5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

We'll hopefully be around the playoffs.

6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

Brentwood is a decent away trip, and we've got a couple more local games this year with Haringey Borough, Sporting Bengal and Waltham Abbey joining.

7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

Sporting Bengal's Mile End Stadium has a perverse place in our hearts after so many trips there in our Essex Senior League days. It seems to be sub-zero even in August.

8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Bury Town and Tilbury were both decent, but Felixstowe & Walton's sweet shop steals the show.

9. Who do you think will finish in the top five?

Bury Town, Felixstowe & Walton United, Brentwood Town, Cambridge City, Mildenhall Town

Thank you- now, who’s next? If you’d like to represent your club please send an email to Ian at [email protected] and we’ll send you the questions.
