Tanners take the title

Tanners take the title

Leatherhead lift the trophy- and our top five are confirmed, although we still don’t know in which order

It was a weekend of celebration for Leatherhead, our champions-elect becoming actual champions after a win at Littlehampton Town, and then collecting the trophy after a draw with Met Police. Second half goals from Jacob Breckon were enough to defeat Town, and an added time goal from Jordy Gallagher earned a point at Fetcham Grove on Monday.

Westfield are in second after the weekend brought two victories. The first of those saw them defeat Raynes Park Vale three-one at Woking Park, Trey Masikini, Michael O’Connor and Bill Montague the scorers for the hosts, whilst Monday saw them impressively defeat fourth place Hanworth Villa on the road, Kyen Nicholas and Aderi Dede delivering a two-nil win and three points.

Field are a point ahead of Moneyfields, who followed victory by the only goal at Hayes & Yeading on Saturday- Lucias Vine scored it- with a four-nil second half thrashing of Littlehampton on Monday, Simba Mlambo, Alfie Bridgman, Faris Khallouqi and James Franklyn ruining the Golds afternoon.

Villa are fourth, six points behind the second place side from Woking and five behind the Moneys, whilst AFC Portchester are confirmed in fifth, a three-nil win at Horndean on Monday the main course following a four-nil starter as they defeated Bedfont Sports on Saturday.

At the other end of the table we already knew that Fareham Town were leaving us after a short stay, and it seems that Horndean will be joining them, the Deans twelve points from safety with four matches left- and with a goal difference of minus forty seven. Littlehampton Town and Met Police still have hope of survival, the Golds three points from safety and Met two, with three games remaining.

Ascot United are up to eighteenth after a five-nil hammering of Fareham and a one-one draw at Hartley Wintney, giving themselves two points worth of breathing space, whilst Bedfont Sports poor run has seen them sucked into the relegation battle, only three points clear of fourth bottom Met Police. Sports followed their Portchester hammering with a two-one defeat against Binfield on Monday, a result which lifts the Moles above Sports- and four points clear of the drop zone.

It would be remiss of us not to congratulate Southall on their phenomenal revival. The All are up to sixth after taking twenty eight points from their last ten matches; a remarkable turnaround after a long flirtation with the bottom four earlier this season. Binfield and Hayes and Yeading were defeated over the weekend, to make it six wins in a row. Only Bedfont Sports have taken as much as a point from them during a twelve match unbeaten run which has brought eleven victories!
