The Blues and the Greens aim for the top five

Wingate and Hendon meet in a London derby, whilst Canvey, Carshalton, Wands and Whitehawk hope to get back to winning ways. Cheshunt, Scholars and Bowers start their Velocity Cup journey

Our big Pitching In Isthmian Premier match of the evening comes from Silver Jubilee Park, where Hendon, in ninth, host Wingate and Finchley, a point ahead in sixth. The Greens defend a one hundred percent home record, whilst the Blues have been rather good on the road, already victorious at leaders Dover Athletic, Dartford and Canvey Island this season. Wingate are looking for a third consecutive win, Hendon are four unbeaten, and the winners, should there be winners, will end up in the top five.

Canvey Island will consider their narrow loss at home to Folkestone Invicta on Saturday rather unfortunate, an own goal separating the sides, and the Gulls will hope to get back to winning ways as Carshalton Athletic come to call. The Robins have taken more points on the road than on their own patch so far this season, and have been very good on occasions without finding any consistency- but they haven’t defeated the Gulls in four attempts.

Cray Wanderers and Whitehawk meet at Flamingo Park. Wands sit at the bottom of the table, with only one league win all season, and are five points from safety- whilst their visitors are only two places above them, but will climb out of the bottom four if they take just a point. Having lost their last three, and having not won a match away from home all season in any competition, the Hawks will need to see improvement if they are to take anything from this match, whilst their hosts haven’t yet won a home league match- although they have won two cup games on their own patch. The Hawks took four points from their meetings last season.

In the Velocity Cup Third Round, Bowers and Pitsea welcome North Division Brightlingsea Regent, whilst we have a local derby between Cheshunt and Potters Bar Town.
