Three new Bees
Sandro Camara, Sergio Tavares and Martin Onoabhagbe are the latest arrivals at Basildon United
Basildon United have announced three new signings, with the arrivals of Sandro Camara, Sergio Tavares and Martin Onoabhagbe.
Winger Sandro started his career as a youth player with Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon, and then played for Rio Maior SC, and in Romania for ACS Somuz Falticeni. He moved to the UK and played Under 21 football for Brentwood Town, also making one senior appearance, and then, last season, spent time with Frenford in the Essex Senior League.
Midfielder Sergio Tavares has also played for Brentwood, but doesn't seem to have made a first team appearance- he was, however, alongside Sando in the successful Under 21 side.
Martin Onoabhagbe, a centre back, was previously a Bee. He played four times for the club during the 21-22 season.
Martin came through the Academy at Crystal Palace. He signed for Cray Wanderers in August 2021 but that wasn't his first spell with the club, as he also played briefly for Wands during the 2019-20 before spending time with East Thurrock United just prior to the pandemic. he went on to play for Braintree Town and Coggeshall Town.
