Turner in Stripes
Joe Turner is new at Folkestone Invicta
Folkestone Invicta had a debutant in defeat at Carshalton Athletic on Saturday, as Joe Turner emerged from the bench with half an hour to go.
Joe makes the move to the Kent coast from Horsham, for whom he played thirteen times, after ending last season at a different Kentish seaside, playing thirteen times for Ramsgate and scoring four goals.
The midfielder/forward moved to the Rams after spending time in Pitching In Southern Premier with AFC Totton. He joined the Stags in November 2023, so wasn't part of the side defeated by the Rams in the FA Cup in October the same year, but of course will be best known in these pastures for his magnificent career with Tonbridge Angels.
In six years with Angels, Joe lit up our Premier Division- and, following Angels promotion, National League South- making two hundred and sixty one appearances and scoring sixty seven goals whilst contributing 54 assists. He won award after award at the club, and was part of our Team of the Year. Prior to his time with Angels he was with Kingstonian, spent some time in New Zealand, and also played for both Met Police and Wealdstone.
