Two for the Rams
Ibby Akanbi and Elijah Anthony are new at Croydon Athletic
Croydon Athletic have announced the signings of Ibby Akanbi and Elijah Anthony.
Forward Ibby has lots of experience, much of it at a significantly higher level. Most recently he has been with Aveley in National League South, and he also played at that level for Chelmsford City, St Albans City, Dartford, Tonbridge Angels, Worthing and Dulwich Hamlet.
Prior to his time with Hamlet he was playing higher still, with Dagenham and Redbridge, and before he became a Dagger he turned out for Maidstone United, Farnborough, Kettering Town, and, nearer home, Whitehawk, Three Bridges and Whyteleafe. He played youth football with Crystal Palace.
Full back Elijah came through the Academy at Queens Park Rangers and played for the super hoops right through until Under 21 level before a departure in the summer of 2023. He moved on to play for Beaconsfield Town, after spending some time at the end of the 22-23 campaign on loan at Waltham Abbey, and you might remember that he played fifteen times for Uxbridge in the closing stages of the last Pitching In Isthmian South Central season, scoring three goals.
He was a trialist at Ebbsfleet United over the summer before signing a deal, and had a loan spell at Chatham Town earlier this season, playing only once.
