Two new Cannons arrive from Maidstone
Sam Smith and Riley Court are new at Hythe Town
Hythe Town announced two new arrivals prior to Saturday's match against Erith Town- but we suspect that neither Sam Smith or Riley Court enjoyed their debuts in a five-nil defeat.
Both players arrived at Reachfields on loan from Maidstone United.
Sam, a defender, joined up with the Stones from Rochester United at the start of the 23-24 campaign, and played chiefly with the Under 23 side as well as making a couple of first team appearances in the Kent Cup before making his first senior starts last month. He signed a new contract in the summer.
He was previously part of the Under 18 setup at Sevenoaks Town.
Midfielder Riley spent nine years in the Chelsea Academy, and after departing Stamford Bridge joined the Stones as an Under 16 before breaking into the first team squad last season after playing for the Under 18 and Under 23 sides. He was a second half substitute at Portman Road as United defeated Ipswich Town in the FA Cup Fourth Round last season, and also came on from the bench in their Fifth Round defeat against Coventry City.
