Uhlsport Golden Gloves Awards- August 2024

Uhlsport Golden Gloves Awards- August 2024

Here are the winners of our first Golden Gloves Awards of 24/25— sponsored by the some of the best goalkeeping equipment in the world, provided by uhlsport

Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify!

Premier Division

Five matches, five wins, two clean sheets, only three goals conceded- it’s been a fine start to the season for Lewes, and our first Golden Gloves Award of the Pitching In Isthmian Premier campaign is about to wing its way to the Dripping Pan- and that’s no bull! The victorious goalkeeper is Toby Bull, who played every second of those matches and has become a firm favourite amongst the Rooks faithful since joining the club in the summer.

North Division

The winner of this award will undoubtedly be buzzing, because it goes to the Bees of Basildon United. United have had a perfect satart to their league campaign, winning three games in a row and keeping two clean sheets with only Cambridge City’s George Smith breaching their defence- and he needed a penalty to do it. Goalkeeper George Marsh has been ever-present, and magnificent!

Whilst this award is decided only on league matches, it is also worth pointing out that August saw the Bees win two cup matches, too- and deliver another clean sheet.

South Central Division

What a start to the season for Harrow Borough. Four matches, four wins, top of the table, eleven goals scored, three clean sheets, and only one goal conceded- that’s rather superb by any standards. Ashford Town, Guernsey and Uxbridge were defeated to nil, whilst Met Police did manage to score on Saturday- and indeed they got the opener, before conceding four! Borough keeper Andrew McCorkell is greatly deserving of our plaudits- and has a fabulous pair of gloves coming his way.

South East Division

Our gloves might not be described as posh, but they are heading to Becks! What a start to the season Beckenham Town have had. Four matches, three wins, a draw which was very nearly a win (a ninety sixth minute equaliser ruined their one hundred percent record), and performances which suggest that last season was just a figment of our imagination, Town have been superb, and deservedly lead the Pitching In Isthmian South East table.

Keeper Sam Freeman has turned in a collection of superb displays, and very much deserves the prize we’re about to send him. Congratulations to Sam- and to his superb defence.

Thanks to uhlsport for sponsoring our Golden Gloves awards.
