Uhlsport Golden Gloves Awards- November 2024
Here are the winners of our latest Golden Gloves Awards - sponsored by the some of the best goalkeeping equipment in the world, provided by uhlsport
Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify!
Premier Division
Hendon have made their Silver Jubilee Park something of a fortress of late. November saw the Greens play four matches there, scoring fifteen goals and conceding…none. They did concede a couple on the road, but two goals conceded in six matches deservedly makes them our Golden Gloves winners, and it’s time to pay tribute to the keeper behind that rock solid defence. Luke Campbell kept four clean sheets as Hendon climbed up the table, his side defeating Dulwich Hamlet, Whitehawk and Hastings United on the way.
Many congratulations go to Luke, and to the defenders who he spends ninety minutes ordering about! Luke gets some fabulous new gloves, too.
North Division
We’re heading to the Simarco Stadium, and recognising the fabulous work delivered by the Witham Town defence. Six matches for our promotion chasers brought four wins, a draw and only one defeat- and perhaps most importantly for this award- four clean sheets. Tilbury, Ipswich Wanderers, Wroxham and Sporting Bengal United all took on Town and couldn’t find a way through their defence, or past keeper Harry Fairs. Harry is having a fine season, and now he has a fine pair of gloves to help that continue.
Congratulations go to Harry and to those who stand in front of him!
South Central Division
We’re not sure if our golden gloves can actually come in red and white, but perhaps, given it’s near Christmas, we can find some red and white wrapping paper?
November was a fine month for Kingstonian. Six matches, five wins, five consecutive clean sheets- it couldn’t really have gone much better, unless you were a fan of Harrow Borough, Moneyfields, Hartley Wintney, Sutton Common Rovers or Ashford Town, each of whom the K’s defeated to nil. Behind that defence, and keeping out everything fired at him, was Liam Allen- and Liam has a fabulous pair of gloves heading his way, and our congratulations.
South East Division
What a month it was to be a Brickie! November saw Sittingbourne play five league matches, win them all, score seventeen goals, and- because this is really what’s important here, this isn’t a golden boot award- concede only…one. Well done to Croydon Athletic’s Nya Kirby, the only man to get the ball past Brickies keeper Harley Earle- although that was from twelve yards and with the keeper forced to stay rooted to his line, so we’re not handing out too much credit!
Harley’s four clean sheets came against Three Bridges, Phoenix Sports, Deal Town and Sevenoaks Town, and we’d like to send our congratulations to him, and to those who help him out by defending resolutely. A new pair of gloves will be heading to Woodstock Park in the near future.
