Villa and Borough look to bounce back- whilst Uxbridge welcome Hayes on a South Central derby night

We’ve two important League matches, and Tanners v Westfield in the Cup. Here’s our preview

Hanworth Villa and Harrow Borough meet in West London, both sides hoping to bounce back after defeat at the weekend. The Villains fell to defeat in Guernsey, a second defeat in a row following a fine run of victories, and as a consequence find themselves in tenth place, four points away from a top five spot- albeit having played two games fewer than the side currently occupying fifth place. Borough were also losing, and indeed seeing their unbeaten home record depart, a narrow loss to leaders Farnham Town leaving them in fourth place, now twelve points behind the leaders with two games in hand. That was a second match in a row against a top two side, and a second one goal defeat, but three points this evening could lift them to third.

Uxbridge have been in fine form, and have only one defeat from ten in the league- that coming at the hands of the leaders. The Red Army will be in good voice as they welcome a Hayes and Yeading United side who are looking for a fourth win in a row. Victory for either side will lift them into the top five, so the stakes are high- and whilst Uxbridge have a very positive home record, United are unbeaten on the road.

In the Velocity Cup, Leatherhead and Westfield meet for the second time this season, the Woking side winning the first league encounter of the campaign between the sides on August Bank Holiday Monday. Neither side have been particularly consistent of late, Westfield having won three and lost two of their previous five, the Tanners having followed a spell during which they looked invincible with two draws and a defeat. Leatherhead don’t have a good record against Westfield- in six meetings they are yet to record a win, and have lost on the last three occasions they’ve met.
