Vita Risk Solutions: Manager of the Month Award, August 2024

In conjunction with our friends at Vita Risk, we honour the best Pitching In Isthmian managers of the first month of the season

Here are our first Vita Risk Solutions Managers of the Month of the 24-25 season- a quartet of deserved winners.

Premier Division

New squad, new manager, new season, new award. It’s been a superb start to the season for Lewes, and its time for us to heap praise on new Rooks boss Craig Nelson, the mastermind of the only one hundred percent record in the Division. Chatham, Bognor, Hashtag, Cray Wanderers and Whitehawk have each come up against the Rooks, and each have been found wanting, leaving Lewes clear at the top on fifteen points and Craig as the recipient of a shiny trophy. It won’t be as useful as the Golden Gloves Award picked up by keeper Toby Bull yesterday, but it will be far prettier and should last a lifetime! Many congratulations to Craig, who has made a magnificent start to his career as an Isthmian.

North Division

It might not always be easy being green- at least if you believe Kermit the Frog- but our very own Greens of Gorleston are feeling rather free and easy at the moment, having had a magnificent start to the season. August has seen them play six matches in League and Cup, and they’ve delivered six superb victories. Walthamstow will be feeling particularly hard done by- they’ve been defeated in the League and knocked out of the Cup- but alongside the scalp of the East Londoners sits those of Redbridge, Wroxham, Hadleigh United and Mulbarton Wanderers. Three wins at home, three on the road, and a prize for Darren Cockrill for being the best North Manager of the month, it couldn’t get much better, could it? Congratulations to Darren on a remarkable start to the season.

South Central Division

We’re off to Horndean with our latest shiny trophy. The Deans have had a superb start to their inagural South Central campaign, with wins on the road against Binfield and Badshot Lea and a comfortable home win over Hanworth Villa.  Their progression when compared to the start of last season is astonishing- it took them until nearly the end of November to accumulate the same number of points- and perhaps demonstrates just how far they have come since they arrived as our new boys in the summer of 2023. Manager Michael Birmingham deserves enormous credit- ande congratulations on a fine start to the season.

South East Division

We’re off to the Island of Sheppey next, with a shiny trophy for Ites boss Ernie Batten. United have had a fine start to the campaign- indeed it would have struggled to get any finer- with league three matches and three wins, Three Bridges and Hythe Town defeated away from home and Sevenoaks Town the victims at Holm Park. Nine goals scored, only two conceded, The Ites have started the new campaign like an express train- and Ernie and his side deserve our congratulations.
