Aaron Smith-Joseph makes a scoring Merstham debut

Merstham gave a debut from the bench to winger Aaron Smith-Joseph in their five-nil win over Phoenix Sports on Saturday, and he had a perfect start, scoring the fifth goal just before full time.

Aaron came through the ranks at Woking before becoming a firm favourite at Burgess Hill Town, where he made his debut in January 2017. His first half season with the Hillians saw him play seventeen times and score five goals in our top flight, and he followed that with fifty one appearances during 2017-18 (five goals), forty one (another five goals) during 2018-19,  thirty three with seven goals during the unfinished 19-20 campaign, and eleven/two during the quickly abandoned 20-21 season.

He then moved upwards to spend some time with Tonbridge Angels, and then moved with Angels boss Steve McKimm to Carshalton Athletic, where he made thirty appearances with- you guessed it- five goals during 22-23. He has most recently been with Tooting n& Mitcham United.
