Ashford fans raise funds for stricken Adem

Ashford United supporters launch funding campaign to help forward Adem Ramadan, who suffered a dreadful injury on Monday

Ashford United forward Adem Ramadan faces a prolonged period out of action after suffering serious injury in the derby match against Hythe Town on Monday- and he also faces significant financial hardship as the nature of his injuries, and the surgery he faces, will stop him from doing his day job, too. Nuts and Bolts fans have quickly sprung into action, and launched a Go Fund Me appeal to try and soften the financial blow. They explain: 'Ashford United player Adem Ramadan suffered a serious leg break in the match against Hythe on Bank Holiday Monday. Adem faces a long road to recovery, and will only get statutory sick pay- and as an electrician will not be able to work for 4 months. This creates a huge financial burden on Adem and his family. Hopefully we, his family, friends and supporters can raise a little bit of cash to help take some of the pressure off Adem. He is someone who brings us joy on a weekly basis on the pitch- and is one of the nicest people you could meet off it.' If you would like to help- and we're sure you would- then please head here and give whatever you can. Our best wishes to Adem for a full and speedy recovery. Follow the Pitching In Isthmian League on Instagram.
