Newmarket Town were the hosts for North Division rivals Cambridge City. The Jockeys didn't yet have a single league point but had been much better in the Cups, having won five times in knockout competitions, but they fell behind after just seven minutes, George Smith on target, and Smith quickly added another just three minutes later. The hosts hit back eleven minutes before half time, Ryan Cole the scorer.
City re-established their two goal advantage twelve minutes into the second half, Alex Warman with that one, and that was where the scoring ended.
