A Farnham Town summer

A Farnham Town summer

We’re still catching up with the summer signing news from our new clubs- let’s take a look at highly-rated Farnham Town next

After a record breaking 23-24- an unbeaten season, no less- Farnham Town strengthened their (already rather effective) squad over the summer, and we thought it was time we caught up with their incomings.

The latest arrival is Sam De St Croix, who you will perhaps remember from his time at Bognor Regis Town. Midfielder Sam comes in from Hungerford Town, where he spent most of last season after signing from the Rocks. His Rocks experience saw him play six times last season, scoring once, and forty seven times during 22-23, scoring nine times. He was previously at Met Police, Godalming Town, Farnborough and Aldershot United- and also spent some time playing inNew Zealand.

Young keeper Pat Nash is not really a new signing, as he was part of the promotion winning invincibles last season, but in the summer he moved on to Aldershot Town, and the Shots have loaned him right back for the season. He had already made sixty two Town appearances, and added a sixty third against Badshot Lea on opening day.

Liam Flanighan was a big part of Chertsey Town’s South Central title winning team last season, making forty one appearances and helping out with three goals. The defender also played for his new club during an injury hit 22-23 campaign, and was previously with Ascot United, Badshot Lea, Walton Casuals and Chipstead.

Full back Jordan Addo-Antoine has made two appearances so far after making the move from Loughborough Students. You might remember Jordan from his brief time with Binfield during 22-23- he played only twice, on loan from Aldershot Town, where he was an Under 19. Before joining the Shots he was a youth player at Reading.

Striker Duarte Martins has had a fine start to his career with the club, scoring two goals in his first three matches after a move from AFC Stoneham. He had a fine three years with Stoneham, scoring goals for fun- one hundred and six of them at a rate of almost a goal a game for the Wessex Premier side. Prior to his time there he played for Alresford Town.

Defender Jordan Stepney will be a familiar name for South Central watchers, as he moved to Town from Raynes Park Vale, whom he helped to promotion to our ranks in 22-23 and for whom he played twenty eight times- scoring three goals- as they narrowly missed out on the Play Offs at the end of their first Isthmian season. He was previously with Fleet Town, Badshot Lea, Cove FC and…Farnham Town.

Midfielder Joel Rollinson has played in Town’s three opening matches. Joel joined the club from Weymouth, but has played quite a bit higher up the pyramid. A former Reading youth, he had time with Eastbourne Borough on loan whilst a Royal, and eventually joined Borough permanently after a spell at Stevenage. He has been our way before, playing twenty times- and scoring three goals- for Cray Wanderers during the unfinished 19-20 campaign, and he was at Hungerford Town before moving to Weymouth. He also had a spell at Beaconsfield Town last season.

Defender- and occasional midfielder- George Butler joined the club from Burnham. George came through the ranks at Farnborough before graduating to the first team setup, and has spent the last two seasons with Burnham, winning the League Cup at the end of the previous campaign.

Striker Shay Brennan came in from one of our former clubs, those Terrors of Tooting & Mitcham United, where he had a magnificent 23-24, scoring thirty three goals in thirty six matches. He won Supporters Club Player of the Season, Top Goalscorer of the Season, Players Player of the Season and Managers Player of the Season awards at the end of April. Prior to his time as a Terror he won Step Five promotion two seasons in a row, with Gresley Rovers and Anstey Nomads.
