First v fifth and third v fourth on South Central Saturday
With Farnham having a potentially tricky match against Villa, Kingstonian will hope to reduce the deficit at the top, whilst Uxbridge and The Row meet in Metroland
Leaders Farnham Town, four points clear having played a match more than second place Kingstonian, welcome fifth place Hanworth Villa. Farnham are unbeaten at home, whilst Villa are looking for a fourth consecutive win and never seem to know when they are beaten, scoring late goals galore. A win for the hosts would take their winning streak to six.
The second place K’s welcome South Park Reigate. Kingstonian are looking for a ninth consecutive league win, the last six of those arriving without a goal conceded, and have lost only once at home; whilst the travelling Sparks, fourth from bottom, are still to win a match on the road and have only one win from six no matter the venue.
Uxbridge welcome Hartley Wintney to Honeycroft. The Red Army have had much to celebrate of late, and the hosts come into the match having lost only one of their last ten matches, and looking for a fourth win in a row. They’ve been particularly good at home, which, coupled with their visitors away record makes them the favourites, but the Row seem to have put their recent sticky patch behind them by winning the last two. The meetings between the sides last season both went the way of this weekend’s hosts.
Ascot United, outside the top five only on goal difference, are back at their Racecourse Ground, Rayners Lane the visitors. The Yellas are looking for a fifth consecutive win, whilst Lane have been far from their best on the road, but have won four of their last five and are in good form.
Raynes Park Vale have slipped to seventh, but are still only one point from the top five. Vale are on the road to Hayes and Yeading United, the hosts looking to get back to winning ways after three matches which have comprosed of two draws and a defeat, the visitors having lost their last two matches.
Harrow Borough, who may be eighth, are only a point away from the top five. Borough ended a five match losing run by defeating Sutton Common Rovers last weekend, whilst their hosts, Binfield, are looking to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat. The Moles have slipped to sixteenth, three points above the drop zone, and have taken fewer points at home than on the road.
Ninth place Westfield travel to take on bottom side Badshot Lea. The Baggies are twelve points from safety, mainly because they are yet to win a match and have lost twelve of fifteen so far, whilst the Woking side are only three points away from the top five despite some decidedly inconsistent form, but are looking for a third unbeaten match in a row. Westfield took four points from their encounters last season.
Horndean welcome Ashford Town. The Deans are six points away from the top five after a hit and miss sort of season, whilst for the Tangerines it has been more miss than hit, which is why they are second from bottom and six points from safety. The Deans look to be on the up, with three wins from four, whilst Town- not helped by having to play all of their matches away from their usual home whilst a 3G pitch is installed, have gone nine without a win.
Sutton Common Rovers host Southall, seventeenth v thirteenth- although there are eight points between those four places. Rovers would probably rather be away, as they’ve won only once at home, and indeed have only one win in ten; whilst The All are still searching for consistency and hoping to avoid a third consecutive defeat.
Met Police welcome Leatherhead, the match brought forward to 2PM due to a floodlight issue. The boys in blue are a point above the drop zone after losing four of their last five, whilst the boys in green are a continuing enigma, a great side on paper but just not performing on the green stuff, five without a win and only three points above the drop zone. Last season saw the Tanners take six points from these fixtures.
Guernsey welcome Moneyfields, also at 2PM, twentieth v fifteenth. The Green Lions find themselves six points from safety and eight points behind their visitors, their home form a big part of that, only one win from eight on their own patch so far. The Moneys home form has brought most of their points this season, with only one win on their travels.
