Hornets hammer Hawks in Sussex derby
Horsham made it five wins in a row as they hammered Whitehawk by five goals to nil as the Fusion Aviation Community Stadium. The first goal for the Hornets arrived on twenty two minutes- just two minutes after the visitors saw Tarik Moore-Azile leave the field with a serious injury- and it went to Lee Harding, whose effort took a deflection off Shamir Fenelon before finding the net. Seventeen minutes of stoppage time were added, and the Hornets went two up in the fourth minute of those, Reece Myles-Meekums firing home, and thirteen minutes into added time Fenelon got a goal of his own. Just before the half time whistle was scheduled to finally blow, Ola Ogunwamide added a fourth.
The second half was something of an anticlimax considering what had gone before it, the final goal of the game arriving nineteen minutes from time, but the strike from James Hammond, who found the top corner from distance, would have been worthy of winning the match on its own. The Hawks had no luck from start to finish, whilst Horsham are up to tenth.
