It’s home win Tuesday!
Four South Central matches, four home wins as Yellas, Deans, Sparks and Uxbridge sparkle
Bonfire night was apparently a good night to stay at home, at least if you were Ascot United, Horndean, South Park Reigate or Uxbridge.
Ascot United had gone three games without a win and expected a tough time as Hartley Wintney arrived at the Racecourse Ground, but in the end the Yellas won rather comfortably- and indeed had victory as good as wrapped up by half time. Anas Igozouln was the chief architect of the visitors destruction, scoring on seventeen and thirty six minutes- the second of those a penalty- to take his tally for the season into double figures. Sandwiched in between those two goals was an effort from skipper Harry Grant, and that made it three-nil at half time. The Row stopped the rot after the break, but whilst they kept their hosts out they couldn’t score themselves, so three-nil was the final score. Ascot are ninth, Hartley fifth.

Horndean moved up to eighth and made it seven points from nine, the Deans comfortable winners over Westfield. It was their first half show that did the damage, Zack Willett scoring on three and twenty one minutes, Tommy Scutt nine minutes before half time, and that three goal lead held until thirteen minutes from the end, Jason Vincent getting a consolation for the visitors, who are eleventh.
Uxbridge got back to winning ways, coming from behind to inflict a first defeat in seven on the Moles- and to ensure their visitors run of six consecutive victories came to an end. Binfield opened the scoring on nineteen minutes, Rahzir Smith-Jones with the goal, but the hosts levelled just before the break courtesy of George Moore, and eight minutes into the second half were awarded a penalty, which Joshua Addae put away to earn victory. Uxbridge are up to tenth.
South Park Reigate announced the appointment of a new manager immediately after their victory over Badshot Lea, so we’re not sure whether new boss Rob Kember was involved, but he’ll nonetheless be delighted by the outcome as held onto their unbeaten home record and picked up three points to move up to sixteenth. They went ahead just after the half hour courtesy of Ryan Healy, and the skipper added a second from the spot on half an hour later to double their advantage. Twenty minutes from time both sides saw a player dismissed, Cerny Ando for the hosts, Lamin Ceesay for the visitors, and an own goal six minutes into added time saw the Baggies score a consolation, not that it was much of a consolation. The Baggies are bottom, still without a win, and nine points from safety.
