Will Farnham get back to winning ways- or can the chasing pack narrow the gap?

Has the Farnham bubble burst? Hartley Wintney, Harrow Borough, Kingstonian and Raynes Park Vale, particularly, will hope so. We’ve a big South Central weekend in prospect

Leaders Farnham Town will hope to quickly put the shock of their heavy defeat at Leatherhead behind them. Town are back at home once more, and welcome mid table Horndean, the Deans having lost five of their last six in League and Trophy but more than capable of giving anyone a match. They’ll need to find a way to keep Owen Dean quiet, the Farnham forward having already scored fourteen goals this season.

Second place Hartley Wintney travel to take on Hayes and Yeading United. The Row are on a five match winning run, but each of those wins came on their own patch, whilst away from home in League and Cups they’ve managed to win only once, which will give the hosts hope. United, however, have been more successful away than at their own Skyex Stadium, but with only one defeat in seven should have plenty to be confident about.

Harrow Borough have lost only once this season- against Farnham- and start their Saturday five points behind the leaders with a game in hand. Borough take on Moneyfields looking to extend a six match unbeaten run- their latest win coming against a Queens Park Rangers side in the London Senior Cup in midweek. The travelling Moneys head up the road from Portsmouth having slipped into the bottom four, and are four matches without a win. In addition, they’ve not yet won an away match apart from a narrow victory in the Hampshire Cup back in August.

Fourth place Kingstonian, after their Scott Harris managerial hokey-cokey last week, are on the road to Woking, where they take on eighth place Westfield. The K’s, despite that upheaval, have won five of their last six in League and Cup, and have striker Eddie Simon in impressive form, having scored in his last six matches- including two hat tricks- and having racked up eighteen goals already this season, from only fifteen matches. Westfield ended a three match losing streak with victory over Southall in midweek, and another victory could lift them to just outside the top five.

Raynes Park Vale have won four of their last five, Jordan Gallagher leading the way with thirteen goals from fourteen games. Our fifth place side are back at home once more, Binfield the visitors, the Moles looking for a fifth successive win- and perhaps not worried by having to travel, as their last three victories have come on the road.

Sixth place Hanworth Villa travel to take on a newly reinforced Sutton Common Rovers, at Carshalton Athletic’s Colston Avenue. The Villains are four unbeaten in League and County Cup, winning their last three, whilst Rovers, who start the weekend in thirteenth place, are still looking for a first home win of the campaign despite showing some good form.

Ascot United welcome Leatherhead. The Yellas have lost only one of their last four and were victorious in Horndean in midweek, whilst the Tanners have suddenly hit top form, winning their last three matches whilst scoring fourteen goals- although those games were all at Fetcham Grove. The meetings between the sides last season both went the way of the Tanners- but both by only one goal to nil.

Rayners Lane are at home to Ashford Town. Lane are unbeaten at home, although they have suffered heavy defeats in their last tow matches, both on the road. The Tangerines have lost their last three, indeed five of their last six, a run which has left them in twentieth place- and only bottom side Badshot Lea have conceded more goals this season.

Met Police welcome Guernsey to Imber Court, the match kicking off at 2PM. The Boys in Blue ended a three match losing run with victory at Ashford Town on Sunday, whilst the travelling Green Lions have taken only one point from their last five matches- although they have been more successful on the road than on their beautiful island.

Finally, bottom side Badshot Lea are eight points from safety and still looking for a first win of the season. The Baggies latest attempt to deliver that victory comes against Southall, the visitors having played some decent football this season but without picking up as many points as they’d like, starting the weekend in fifteenth- albeit nine points better off than their hosts. They are still without an away win this season, however, which might give the Baggies some hope of lift off.
