A North Boxing Day!

A North Boxing Day!

We’ve matches kicking off at noon, 1PM and 3PM, so please, check your kick off time! Here’s a brief preview

At Noon the action comes from the Basildon, as the Bees of United welcome the Blues of Brentwood Town. The visitors will hope for a victory that will hoist them- for an hour at least- into third place, and to go seven matches unbeaten; whilst the Bees are eight matches without a win, and indeed have won only one of their last ten, a run that has seen them slide down the table to fifteenth place.

Onto our 1PM kick offs next.

Concord Rangers are at home to third place Witham Town, the visitors hoping to get back to winning ways after a heavy defeat at Waltham Abbey on Saturday. Witham have only two wins from six, whilst the Beachboys, in twelfth place, are looking for a third win in a row- and playing only their second match of the month, after being rather unenthusiastic participants in a number of games of postponement bingo.

Leaders Felixstowe and Walton United welcome bottom side Ipswich Wanderers. The Seasiders are thirteen matches unbeaten, and have won every match but one on their own patch, only Brightlingsea Regent escaping with a point. Wanderers have lost nine of their last ten, are without a league win since September 17th, and are nine points from safety.

Mildenhall Town are the hosts for second place Buy Town, the visitors hoping to go back to the top. Bury had been in super form, an eight match unbeaten run which contained seven wins being brought to an end by Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday, whilst Hall have won only one of their last six and start their Christmas programme only two points and two places above the drop zone.

Sporting Bengal United welcome Cambridge City, the visitors back in East London for the second match in a row after their win at Redbridge on Saturday. United are one place and two points above the drop zone and six without a win, City hope they have turned a corner and are looking for a third win in a row.

Tilbury and Grays Athletic meet in their Chadfields derby. The Dockers have slipped to seventh after a run of one win in six, whilst Athletic have lost three in a row, a run which has seen them slip down to ninth.

Wroxham, two points from safety, will have been boosted by their win over Tilbury on Saturday and indeed have looked much improved of late, having lost only one of their last five. The Yachtsmen welcome Newmarket Town, who are four points and two places behind them, to the Norfolk Broads, the Jockeys with only one win in ten hoping to avoid a fifth successive defeat.

Finally, our 3PM kick offs.

Brightlingsea Regent will hope to build upon their impressive win at Bury Town on Saturday, as they welcome Gorleston. Regent have lost only one of their last eight, a run which has seen them close to within four points of the top five, whilst the travelling Greens have slipped to sixteenth after a run of one win in six.

Heybridge Swifts, in fifth place, welcome Maldon and Tiptree to Scraley Road. Swifts will hope that Saturday’s win over Basildon has finally buried their home hoodoo, and hope to build on a run which has seen them win seven of their last nine. The travelling Jammers don’t have far to travel but they are in their best form of the campaign, seven matches unbeaten.

Sixth place Waltham Abbey will hope to climb into the top five as they travel to Redbridge. The Abbotts were very impressive when walloping Witham on Saturday, and have won four of their last five, whilst the Motormen have been consistently inconsistent with three wins from ten.
