A Town and Vale Sunday-Monday

Three points for Bury Town on Sunday, three for Raynes Park Vale on Monday, as both come from behind to take victory

Bury Town are having a busy few days in Pitching In Isthmian North. Sunday saw them travel to Cambridge City, whilst tonight sees them travel a similar road to Newmarket Town.

The Blues went into Sunday four points behind leaders Tilbury with two games in hand, and it looked like the gap may remain the same when Marcel Lewis put City ahead- and even though an own goal gave them an equaliser on the half hour they were behind again a minute into the second half, Shane Temple the scorer.

On fifty five minutes the visitors were level once more, Ed Upson with the equaliser, and there was to be no more messing about as within a minute they were ahead for the first time, Luke Brown making it three-two. City did their best to conjure an equaliser, but in added time Max Maughn made quite sure of three Blue points, making it four-two and seeing his side go level on points with second place Witham. A point at the Jockeys tonight will take them top once more, but we suspect they’ll be rather keen to take all three.

Monday night saw us head to Colston Avenue, latest home of Sutton Common Rovers, and Rovers wait for a home win was destined to continue as Raynes Park Vale climbed to third in Pitching In Isthmian South Central. Rovers went ahead on fifteen minutes, Troy Walters with his fourth goal in their colours, but the visitors levelled in first half aded time, Cameron Black the scorer, and then Jordan Gallagher took the match by the scruff of the neck. The Vale number ten is having his usual superb season, and he added goals sixteen and seventeen in the sixty fifth and eighty fifth minutes to send his side home with three points.

We have more South Central matches tonight at Ascot United, Horndean, Leatherhead, South Park Reigate and Uxbridge, and a large selection in our Premier Division too. There is also a fairly comprehensive South East programme, and you can find all of the details here
