Supporters Predictions 24-25: Ipswich Wanderers
A Wandering we will go, with Gary as our guide
We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

- Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?
The biggest Highlight of the season for me was completing a home and away double over league winners and Suffolk rivals Lowestoft.
Having failed to pick up a point from the 1st few games and a change in management, there was a feeling that the back to back promotions into Step 4 may have come too soon. But in a top vs bottom clash in the away tie, with many expecting it to be a cricket score, Wanderers went and upset the form book with an outstanding 1-2 win. This win helped to inject some much needed confidence and belief into the team, who then hit a brilliant patch of form to show that we were more than capable of competing in this league. This run of form also included a tremendous 2-0 home win against another Suffolk team, Bury Town.
2. And what was the worst moment?
Losing 0-7 at home to Brightlingsea was a humbling experience. 2 red cards for Wanderers and a hat-trick coming from Kai Fletcher, who started the season at Wanderers before departing in November. It was a real "look what you could've won" moment (Thankfully he's come to Wanderers for this season!)
3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?
Goalkeeper Craig Brand. Despite being injured for parts of the season, he was a real safe pair of hands and a dependable keeper, making some invaluable saves.
4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 24-25 campaign?
Returning striker Kai Fletcher has been in great form so far in pre-season. He and former Brentwood Town striker Tom Richardson (2022 golden boot winner) could become a formidable partnership that promises plenty of goals and excitement!
5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?
The aim must be for progression from last season and to stay away from a relegation battle. I can see us causing a few shocks against teams expecting to be facing the Wanderers team of last season. I believe we'll consolidate in this league with a comfortable mid-table finish
6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?
Felixstowe away - a nice local game on Boxing Day. Additionally I'm looking forward to visiting the two new Suffolk teams in the league, Newmarket and Mildenhall.
I'm also really looking forward to visiting Cambridge City's new stadium.
7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?
Bury Town. A lovely set up to be jealous of, as well as large vocal crowds and a great back and forth atmosphere between the two set of fans.
8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?
I'm mostly found sampling the delights from the bar instead of the kitchen in all honesty. Although having seen the recent pictures from Newmarket Town I will no doubt be trying their famous Jockey Whopper Burger!
9. Who do you think will finish in the top five?
Cambridge City, Bury Town, Concord Rangers, Waltham Abbey, Brentwood Town
